Sales Training Program – Grow Our Own (GO2)
Our training program is for recent or soon to be graduates who desire a career in sales. The GO2 program is a 12 month rotational training, combining on-the-job and classroom training which will guide individual development experiences.  You’ll gain product and fluid power technology knowledge, build relationship skills, sharpen competitive sales techniques and learn the day-to-day responsibilities of an Account Manager.  After successful completion of your training, you’ll be given the opportunity to manage your own territory as an Account Manager with SunSource.

 

GO2 Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Four year college degree in Sales, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Distribution, Fluid Power or a related field.
  • GPA 2.5 or greater
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, planning and organization skills
  • Demonstrated initiative and competitiveness
  • Mechanical aptitude
  • Strong desire to pursue a career in technical sales
  • Related full-time, part-time, internship or co-op work experience (desired not required)

Summer Internships

Our 12 week Internship program is for college students interested in a career in sales.  It’s designed for you to gain “real world” work experience and build upon what you have learned through your coursework.  During the 12 weeks, you’ll learn the day-to-day duties of key company positions and be given assignments to complete in Sales, Customer Service, Engineering, Purchasing, Service and Repair, and Warehousing.  You’re assigned a mentor who will offer guidance on project tasks and responsibilities.  Many students are offered second internships or full-time positions with SunSource upon successful completion of their internship.

Internship Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Concentration in Sales, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Distribution, Fluid Power or related major

  • GPA 2.5 or greater

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, planning and organization skills

  • Demonstrated initiative and competitiveness                   

  • Mechanical aptitude

  • Related internship or co-op experience (desired)

  • Desire a career in industrial sales after graduation

Summer Interns are required to work 40 hours a week and are compensated on an hourly basis.
