Comprehensive PLC Repair Process

At SunSource, we follow a meticulous repair process to ensure precision, quality, and transparency at every stage. Our process includes:

  1. Unit Receipt & Initial Logging: Upon receipt, your PLC is entered into our centralized tracking system. Customer details, repair notes, and service priority are recorded to ensure smooth tracking and timely service.
  2. Unique Repair Number Assignment: We assign a unique repair number (e.g., SCOL-12345) for each unit, allowing precise tracking and real-time status updates.
  3. Technician Assignment & Scheduling: Customer Service Representatives (CSRs) assign the repair to the most qualified technician and schedule it for teardown at our designated repair center.
  4. Teardown & Component Inspection: The PLC is carefully disassembled, and each component is thoroughly inspected to identify faults, wear, or potential failure points.
  5. Failure Analysis & Parts Identification: We document failed components, conduct root cause analysis, and input all findings into our tracking system. This information is used to create a comprehensive failure analysis report.
  6. Cost Estimation & Quoting: Our costing team sources replacement parts and determines pricing and availability. The CSR then sends a repair quote to the customer.
  7. Customer Approval: The customer reviews the quote and provides a purchase order (PO) to authorize the repair.
  8. Parts Procurement & Assembly Scheduling: Once parts arrive, our system notifies the technician that the repair is ready to proceed. The repair is scheduled for assembly and testing.
  9. Assembly & Functional Testing: The PLC is reassembled according to OEM standards. It undergoes performance testing under real-world conditions using closed-loop systems to ensure proper functionality.
  10. Painting & Final Inspection: After successful testing, the unit is cleaned, painted (if applicable), and given a final inspection.
  11. Documentation & Reporting: We provide a detailed test report, outlining replaced components, test results, and other key information. The report is sent to the customer for full transparency.
  12. Packaging & Shipping: The PLC is securely packaged to ensure safe delivery and shipped back to the customer, ready for immediate use.
