Our Electronics Repair Department specializes in industrial drive components and their applications. Using advanced tools and test systems, we thoroughly clean, check, and dynamically test DC, AC, servo, spindle, and variable frequency drives. Each unit is remanufactured and load tested on custom-built test stands to simulate working conditions. We service many brands, including Allen Bradley, Siemens, Bosch Rexroth, Indramat, Fanuc, Yaskawa, Mitsubishi, ABB, Danfoss, Okuma, and more.

PLC's - Programmable Logic Controllers

PLC's are the nerve center of modern manufacturing. Our Electronics Repair Division specializes in intricate PLC repairs across a wide range of models and brands. Using state-of-the-art diagnostic tools, we meticulously clean, inspect, and dynamically test your PLC to pinpoint faults. Our experienced technicians then repair the unit, followed by comprehensive system testing on custom stands. We cover I/O cards, processors, and power supplies, servicing all major brands like Allen Bradley, GE Fanuc, Modicon, Texas Instruments, Reliance, Mitsubishi, and Siemens. From legacy modules to the latest series, our standard 3-5 day service provides reliable repair solutions.

HMI's, Industrial Computers, and Touch Screens

The convenience of Human Machine Interface control panels has made them indispensable on the plant floor. Cracked screen? Peeling overlay? No display? No problem. We employ advanced diagnostics to meticulously evaluate, clean, and test each component, pinpointing the root cause of issues. Our proficient technicians, equipped with specialized skills, carefully repair each unit. After repair, we conduct extensive functional tests on our tailor-made stands, ensuring each device performs flawlessly in its operational setting.

Torque Tools & Controllers

SunSource repairs and tests DC torque tools (nut runners), controllers, and cable assemblies. Each tool is fully rebuilt and tested with its matching controller. Calibration and repair reports are provided after successful closed-loop testing. Controllers are dynamically tested with the nut runner tool and calibrated on a torque angle stand. All documentation is NIST traceable. Brands include Atlas Copco, Aimco, Bosch, Cooper Tools, Cleco, Estic, and many more.

Light Curtains

Our Electronics Repair Division excels in repairing light curtains and area scanners from various manufacturers. We perform detailed evaluations, thorough cleaning, and precise diagnostics to accurately identify faults. Our skilled technicians, experts in light curtain technology, carry out meticulous repairs. Each light curtain is then tested extensively on specialized equipment to ensure optimal performance. We service brands like STI, Sick Optic, Banner, Dolan Jenner, and many more.

Teach Pendants

When your teach pendants fail, quick repairs are essential to minimize downtime. SunSource specializes in repairing various models across different brands. We use comprehensive diagnostics, including meticulous inspection, cleaning, and precise testing, to identify faults accurately. After repairs, each teach pendant undergoes thorough testing on the matching robot and controller series to ensure proper function. We stock replacement membranes, E-stops, cases, cables, and displays to restore your unit to factory condition.

Power Supplies

A power supply failure can halt production. Our Electronics Repair Division expertly handles power supply repairs for various types and brands. Using advanced diagnostics, we perform careful cleaning, thorough inspections, and precise testing to identify faults accurately. Our skilled technicians execute meticulous repairs. Post-repair, each power supply is rigorously tested on specialized equipment to ensure reliable performance in its operational environment.

Robotic Component Repair

Our robotics lab features over 40 complete robotic systems with matching manipulators and controllers for thorough system testing of your robotic components. We cover a wide range of robot generations and brands, including Fanuc, ABB, Motoman, Kuka, Kawasaki, Nachi, and Comau. Teach pendants, servo amplifiers, power supplies, and control boards are closed-loop system tested on the exact same type of robotic system used in your manufacturing process.

Welders and Weld Controls

Our certified technicians repair welders, wire feeders, and weld controllers, restoring your equipment to full OEM specifications. With load testing capabilities and meticulous attention to detail, we ensure peak performance. We provide expert service for brands like Miller, Lincoln, Yaskawa Motoweld, Fronius, Hitachi, ESAB, Panasonic, OTC Daihen, WTC Weltronic, Dengensha, and Robotron. Servo Motors

Our industrial repair group has been focusing on servo and spindle motor repair as a core competency since day one. Every incoming unit is thoroughly cleaned, inspected, diagnosed, and repaired by one of our skilled technicians. Our in-house machining and rewind capabilities allows us to provide high-quality and fast turnaround, with normal turnaround of 10 days or less on most repairs. All motors are closed-loop tested on drive packages and under full load to meet or exceed OEM specifications and come with a detailed service report identifying all components repaired or replaced.
